It's been a while since I've posted - more on that soon - but I've been coming across many great links that I want to share.
For instance, check out these great interactive maps of history's great travels from Good Magazine. Not too much text on each journey, but it's fun to see the overlap between Magellan and Moby Dick. Credit to Boing Boing for finding this.

青光眼科醫師劉瑞玲表示，青光眼是全球導致眼盲的第二殺手，僅次於白內障，但白內障可透過小切口超音波乳化術合併人工水晶體植入術的治療，恢復視力， 反觀一旦因青光眼而傷及視神經，即使再積極開刀治療，可能也難以挽回視力，最後導致失明。
在台灣，16.2%失明者是因青光眼而起，男女各半。若以年齡區分，20～39歲年輕人約占 10%，40～59歲中壯年約占25%，年逾60歲則占60%以上；不過，實際到青光眼科門診就醫的人數，僅占青光眼病患實際人數的17%，換句話說，還有高達25萬以上的青光眼患者並不知道自己已罹病，或是雖知罹病卻仍未採取任何醫療行為，就因如此，20%以上青光眼病患初診時，視神經已出現嚴重損壞，增加治療上的困難度。
眼科醫師呂大文指出，青光眼的可怕在於大多數患者罹病時並無明顯症狀，當察覺自己視力可能受到影響時，視神經通常已經受損40% 以上。
青光眼常伴隨的症狀有： 1.在光源週圍看見光圈、2.隧道型視覺（視野變窄）、3.紅眼、4.眼睛看起來混濁、5.噁心或嘔吐、6.眼睛疼痛、7.突然的眼睛疼痛伴隨噁心或嘔吐，可能警示眼壓嚴重升高，發生這些症狀應立即就醫。
更糟的是，青光眼屬於不可逆性的疾病，任何手術或藥物治療，都無法恢復已受損的視神經，頂多只能讓病情不繼續惡化下去而已；根據統計，10%青光眼患者即使接受各項積極性的治療，還是無法避免病情惡化。
就因為青光眼總是躲在暗處攻擊，除了最基礎的視力、眼壓檢測外，還包括眼底鏡檢查及視野檢查。經檢查疑似青光眼患者，則應每3個月定期回診一次；呂大文特別提醒，父母等直系血親有人罹患青光眼的人，罹患青光眼的機率是一般人的9∼13 倍，這些人年滿18歲後，更應主動接受受檢查。
濫用眼藥水恐傷及眼睛 預防青光眼這樣做
一旦確診為青光眼，症狀較輕的可用藥水或雷射治療；症狀較重的，可接受青光眼濾過手術， 把過多房水排到眼球外面，降低眼壓。不過，大多數青光眼用藥都有毒性，點藥雖是必要之惡，一定要用，卻也不要濫用。
呂大文透露，有些患者擔心青光眼症狀惡化，拚命點 藥，結果傷及角膜上皮組織而引發角膜炎，眼睛刺痛、發紅。
面對如此可怕的青光眼，呂大文強調，一定要從預防著手，比如盡可能少點含類固醇眼藥水、糖尿病或高血壓等慢性病患者應控制病情，以及有青光眼家族史者應定期接受視力、眼壓及眼底視神經等檢查，否則一旦延遲診斷及治療 ，恐怕只有失明的份。
送走丈夫與3子！第一夫人竟回不了家
ReplyDelete16年前的12月15日，故總統蔣經國夫人蔣方良88歲離世。身為當時的第一夫人，先後送走丈夫及3個兒子，儘管與蔣經國相伴長眠於大溪陵寢，但也未能返回俄羅斯故鄉。
來自白俄羅斯的蔣方良成為第一夫人後，先後送走丈夫與三子
1925年蔣經國前往莫斯科中山大學留學，在俄國時使用俄文名字尼古拉，遇見他生命裡最重要的女人。1934年，本名芬娜17歲的蔣方良，與23歲的蔣經國相識。
蔣方良是白俄羅斯人，酒店消費自幼父母雙亡，由姐姐撫養長大。蔣經國遠離家鄉，遭遇各種打擊，甚至流放，吃盡了苦頭。芬娜從工人技術學校畢業後分配到了重型機械製造廠，遇見上司蔣經國，至此改變人生。
1937年，蔣經國由莫斯科回中國，結束了他長達12年的蘇聯生活。蔣方良和祖國以及親友幾乎斷絕了關係。在中國溪口，蔣方良幫過蔣經國的生母、婆婆毛福梅下廚做飯，學做寧波菜。毛去世後，蔣方良還得和另一個婆婆宋美齡相處。
1941年，蔣經國與婚外情對象章亞若在廣西桂林產下一對雙胞胎兒子。蔣介石按照家譜給兩個孫子取名為孝嚴和孝慈，兩個孫子跟隨母姓。章亞若在醫院暴病身亡後，蔣經國將雙胞胎交給章亞若的母親周錦華撫養。
蔣孝勇曾認為，母親對蔣經國和章亞若的戀情是有耳聞的，但她從來沒有說破。即使到了晚年，兩人對此也絕口不提。
蔣方良陸續為蔣經國生下四個子女，依次為蔣孝文、蔣孝章、蔣孝武、蔣孝勇。1988年1月13日，蔣經國辭世。1989年至1996年，短短七年內，孝文、孝武、孝勇也相繼過世，讓蔣方良苦嘗白髮人送黑髮人的悲劇。
2004年12月15日蔣方良病逝，享壽88歲。遺體火化後與蔣經國相伴長眠於大溪陵寢。其女蔣孝章因體弱無法返台奔喪，俞揚和代妻回台灣參與治喪。蔣方良在俄羅斯、中國與台灣結束傳奇的一生。
